Joel Kopelman, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Kopelman has earned a reputation as a master of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery by consistently delivering to his patients the finest individualized care and results over the past twenty-two years. He has been able to achieve these goals by employing a very experienced professional nursing team who are also committed to delivering compassionate care. This has led to superior satisfaction from our loyal patients.

In 1977, he received his medical degree from the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. Thereafter, he interned at Johns Hopkins, followed by a research fellowship in pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He then undertook a residency in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C.. After his residency, Dr. Kopelman began a second fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Orbital Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.). Dr. Kopelman then went on to a third fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. Through postgraduate education, he has pursued additional cosmetic surgery training at U.C.L.A., and other institutions. In 1983, he was among the first physicians to use Botox prior to its F.D.A. approval and helped to prove its safety. He is currently a designated center by Allergan as a national training center for other physicians. Over the past twenty-two years in practice, he has taught hundreds of colleagues surgical techniques in endoscopic brow lifting, laser resurfacing, chemical peeling, facelifting, mid-face lifting, liposuction, and Thermage. For the past seven years, Dr. Kopelman has been the director of a instructional course in facelifting, which is given annually in different cities across the United States.
