Brow Lift - Small Incision Endoscopic Techniques
Many patients who may benefit from cosmetic eyelid surgery may also benefit from elevation of their brow at the same time. The question that frequently arises during the consultation is, ”Do I need a browlift or will eyelid surgery alone be enough to achieve an optimal cometic result?”As the brow descends, the skin of the upper eyelid will be sandwiched downward toward the eyelashes giving the impression that a great deal of skin has developed, creating “hooding” of the upper eyelid crease. If the surgeon removes the skin of the eyelid without raising the brow, then the eyebrow to eyelash dimension may appear narrower. Instead of the eyelid opening to a more youthful dimension it may appear compressed. So in many cases eyelid and brow elevation are recommended together. The procedure is performed with an endoscope which can be used to make small incisions behind the hairline resulting in no visible scars. No hair is removed. Most importantly the results look natural and the patients do not appear surprised or overdone.
Since 1995, Dr. Kopelman has taught hundreds of physicians from all over the country and world his techniques in his course on endoscopic browlifting.
